I saw the Prophet ﷺ, when the journey pressed him hard, combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers.
أخبرنا محمد بن منصور قال أنبأنا سفيان قال سمعت الزهري قال أخبرني
رأيت النبي ﷺ إذا جد به السير جمع بين المغرب والعشاء
Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Shortening Prayers, Chapter on Combining Maghrib and Isha While Traveling, no. 1106, and Muslim in the Book of the Traveler's Prayer, Chapter on the Permissibility of Combining Two Prayers While Traveling, no. 44/703, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna through this same chain.
