Talha reported,

The people of Kufa are afflicted with a trial concerning nabidh, in which the young grow up and the old grow gray. He said that whenever there was a wedding among them, Talha and Zubayd would serve milk and honey.Talha was asked, "Will you not serve them nabidh?"He replied, "I would hate for a Muslim to become intoxicated on my account."

لأهل الكوفة في النبيذ فتنة يربو فيها الصغير ويهرم فيها الكبير قال وكان إذا كان فيهم عرس كان طلحة وزبيد يسقيان اللبن والعسل فقيل لطلحة ألا تسقيهم النبيذ قال إني أكره أن يسكر مسلم في سببي
