A drink would be prepared for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he would drink it that day, the next day, and the day after. If anything remained in the vessel by the evening of the third day, they would not drink it but pour it out.
[Sahih] It is in al-Kubra, hadith no. 5246. The correct version is, Abu Dawud Harrani informed us, he said, Yaala bin Ubayd narrated to us, he said, Mutee Ghazali narrated to us, from Abu Uthman, and so on. The correct reading is "from Abu Umar" instead of "from Abu Uthman," and he is Yahya bin Ubayd Bahrani. The hadith is in Sahih Muslim, as will come, hadith no. 5742.
