The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the use of gourds, green jars, and vessels coated with pitch.
أخبرنا سويد قال أنبأنا عبد الله عن شعبة عن محارب قال سمعت
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الدباء والحنتم والمزفت
Muslim reported it, hadith 54/1997, from the hadith of Shubah with the same chain. It is also found in Kubra, hadith A144.In the original it appears as, "Saeed, from Muharib," but the correct reading is "Shubah, from Muharib," as it appears in Tuhfat Ashraf.In Kubra it appears as "Saeed bin Muharib," as found in the manuscripts of Mujtaba.
