The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every drink that intoxicates is forbidden." Qutayba reported it from the Prophet ﷺ.
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم وقتيبة عن سفيان عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ كل شراب أسكر فهو حرام قال قتيبة عن النبي ﷺ
Reported by Bukhari, wudu, chapter "Wudu with nabidh (date-water infusion) or intoxicants is not permissible," no. 242, and Muslim, drinks, chapter "Explaining that every intoxicant is wine and every wine is forbidden," no. 69/2001, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with the same chain. It is also in Kubra, no. 5101.
