The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the use of gourds, green-glazed jars, vessels coated with pitch, and hollowed stumps as containers. He also forbade mixing unripe dates with ripe dates, and mixing Zabib with dates. He wrote to the people of Hajar instructing them not to mix Zabib and dates together.
أخبرنا واصل بن عبد الأعلى عن ابن فضيل عن أبي إسحق عن حبيب بن أبي ثابت عن سعيد بن جبير
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الدباء والحنتم والمزفت والنقير وعن البسر والتمر أن يخلطا وعن الزبيب والتمر أن يخلطا وكتب إلى أهل هجر أن لا تخلطوا الزبيب والتمر جميعا
