The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, from the trial of the Fire, from the trial of the grave, from the punishment of the grave, from the evil of the trial of the Masih the Dajjal, from the evil of the trial of wealth, and from the evil of the trial of poverty. O Allah, wash away my sins with the water of snow and hail, and cleanse my heart of sins as a white garment is cleansed of filth. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness, from old age, from debt, and from sin."
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم قال حدثنا جرير عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
كان رسول الله ﷺ يقول اللهم إني أعوذ بك من عذاب القبر وفتنة النار وفتنة القبر وعذاب القبر وشر فتنة المسيح الدجال وشر فتنة الغنى وشر فتنة الفقر اللهم اغسل خطاياي بماء الثلج والبرد ونق قلبي من الخطايا كما نقيت الثوب الأبيض من الدنس اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الكسل والهرم والمغرم والمأثم
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Supplications, chapter on seeking refuge from sin and debt, hadith no. 6368, 6375, and Muslim in the Book of Remembrance and Supplication, chapter on supplications and seeking refuge, hadith no. 589, after hadith no. 2705, from the hadith of Hisham, with the same wording.
