The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate with these words, "Allah, I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt, from being overpowered by an enemy, and from the gloating of foes."
أخبرنا أحمد بن عمرو بن السرح قال أنبأنا ابن وهب قال حدثني حيي بن عبد الله قال حدثني أبو عبد الرحمن الحبلي
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يدعو بهؤلاء الكلمات اللهم إني أعوذ بك من غلبة الدين وغلبة العدو وشماتة الأعداء
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Ahmad narrated it in 2/173 from the hadith of Huyayy bin Abdullah, in the same manner. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 7910, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the criterion of Muslim in 1/531, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
