Uqba reported, I was walking with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he said, "Uqba, recite."I asked, "What shall I recite, Messenger of Allah?"He remained silent. Then he said again, "Uqba, recite."I asked, "What shall I recite, Messenger of Allah?"He remained silent again, so I said to myself, "O Allah, let him repeat it to me."Then he said, "Uqba, recite."I asked, "What shall I recite, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "Recite, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak."So I recited it to its end. Then he said, "Recite."I asked, "What shall I recite, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "Recite, I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind."So I recited it to its end. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one who asks has ever asked with anything like these two, and no one who seeks refuge has ever sought refuge with anything like them."
[Hasan] Darimi narrated it: 2/462, no. 3443, from the hadith of Layth bin Saad, with the same chain, and it is also in Al-Kubra, no. 7838. The hadith has corroborating narrations.
