Anas was asked whether the Prophet ﷺ had taken a ring. He replied, "Yes. One night he delayed the final evening prayer until close to the middle of the night. When he had prayed, the Prophet ﷺ turned his face toward us and said, 'You remain in prayer as long as you wait for it.'"Anas added, "It is as if I can still see the gleam of his ring." In Ali's version, the wording is "until the middle of the night."

سئل أنس هل اتخذ النبي ﷺ خاتما قال نعم أخر ليلة صلاة العشاء الآخرة إلى قريب من شطر الليل فلما أن صلى أقبل النبي ﷺ علينا بوجهه ثم قال إنكم لن تزالوا في صلاة ما انتظرتموها قال أنس كأني أنظر إلى وبيص خاتمه في حديث علي إلى شطر الليل
Bukhari included it in the Book of Adhan, chapter titled "One who sits in the masjid waiting for the prayer, and the merit of masjids," hadith no. 661, from the report of Ismail bin Jafar with the same chain.
