I saw Abu Hurayrah striking his hand against his forehead, saying, "People of Iraq, you claim that I lie about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'When the strap of one of your sandals breaks, do not walk in the other until you have repaired it.'"
Muslim narrated it in "clothing," in the chapter on the recommendation of putting on the sandal on the right foot first, and taking it off from the left foot first, and the dislike of walking in a single sandal, hadith no. 2098, from the hadith of Amash, through this same chain.
