The Prophet ﷺ used to wear a gold ring, but then he discarded it and put on a ring of silver, engraving on it "Muhammad, Messenger of Allah." He said, "No one should engrave the same inscription as on this ring of mine." He wore it with the stone facing the inside of his palm.

كان النبي ﷺ يتختم بخاتم من ذهب ثم طرحه ولبس خاتما من ورق ونقش عليه محمد رسول الله ثم قال لا ينبغي لأحد أن ينقش على نقش خاتمي هذا وجعل فصه في بطن كفه
