Abu Quhafa was brought to the Prophet ﷺ with his head and beard as white as the thaghamah plant. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Change this, or dye it."
أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الأعلى قال حدثنا خالد وهو ابن الحارث قال حدثنا عزرة وهو ابن ثابت عن أبي الزبير
أتي النبي ﷺ بأبي قحافة ورأسه ولحيته كأنه ثغامة فقال النبي ﷺ غيروا أو اخضبوا
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Clothing, chapter "The recommendation of dyeing gray hair with yellow or red, and the prohibition of dyeing it black," Hadith 78/2102 and 79, from Abu Zubayr with a similar meaning.
