The Prophet ﷺ came to us and saw a man with disheveled hair. He said, "Could this man not find something to tidy his hair with?"
أخبرنا علي بن خشرم قال أنبأنا عيسى عن الأوزاعي عن حسان بن عطية عن محمد بن المنكدر
أتانا النبي ﷺ فرأى رجلا ثائر الرأس فقال أما يجد هذا ما يسكن به شعره
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Clothing, chapter on worn-out garments and on washing the garment, hadith no. 4062, from the hadith of Uzai, through this same chain. It is also found in Tamhid 5/52, with a continuous chain of direct hearing going back to Ibn Munkadir.
