Shuba reported that Qatada would sometimes attribute this to the Prophet ﷺ and sometimes not. He said, "The time of the noon prayer lasts as long as the afternoon prayer has not arrived. The time of the afternoon prayer lasts as long as the sun has not turned yellow. The time of the sunset prayer lasts as long as the redness of twilight has not disappeared. The time of the night prayer lasts until midnight, and the time of the dawn prayer lasts as long as the sun has not risen."

شعبة كان قتادة يرفعه أحيانا وأحيانا لا يرفعه قال وقت صلاة الظهر ما لم تحضر العصر ووقت صلاة العصر ما لم تصفر الشمس ووقت المغرب ما لم يسقط ثور الشفق ووقت العشاء ما لم ينتصف الليل ووقت الصبح ما لم تطلع الشمس
