A man who had lived in the time of the Prophet ﷺ wore a ring of gold, so the Prophet began tapping it with a stick he was holding. Then, when the Prophet ﷺ turned his attention elsewhere, the man threw the ring away.The Prophet ﷺ said, "It seems we have done nothing but hurt you and cost you a loss."Yunus reported it differently. He narrated it from Zuhri, from Abu Idris, as a mursal report.Abu Abdul-Rahman said, the report of Yunus is closer to being correct than the report of Numan.
أخبرنا أحمد بن عمرو بن السرح قال حدثنا ابن وهب قال أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب قال أخبرني أبو إدريس الخولاني أن رجلا ممن أدرك النبي ﷺ لبس خاتما من ذهب نحوه قال أبو عبد الرحمن وحديث يونس أولى بالصواب من حديث النعمان
