The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Any woman who applies perfume and then passes by a group of people so that they catch its scent is an adulteress."
أخبرنا إسمعيل بن مسعود قال حدثنا خالد قال حدثنا ثابت وهو ابن عمارة عن غنيم بن قيس
قال رسول الله ﷺ أيما امرأة استعطرت فمرت على قوم ليجدوا من ريحها فهي زانية
[Its chain is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Grooming, in the chapter on a woman's perfume when going out, no. 4173, from the hadith of Thabit bin Umara, and the assessment favoring his reliability prevails. It is also found in Sunan al-Kubra, no. 9422, and Tirmidhi said in no. 2786, hasan sahih.
