How can you order me to recite according to the recitation of Zayd bin Thabit, when I learned more than seventy surahs directly from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while Zayd was still a boy with two locks of hair playing among the children?

كيف تأمروني أقرأ على قراءة زيد بن ثابت بعد ما قرأت من في رسول الله ﷺ بضعا وسبعين سورة وإن زيدا مع الغلمان له ذؤابتان
Bukhari included it in the Book of the Virtues of the Quran, in the chapter on the reciters among the companions of the Messenger of Allah, hadith no. 5000, and Muslim included it in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions, in the chapter on the virtues of Abdullah bin Masud and his mother, may Allah be pleased with both of them, hadith no. 2462, from the hadith of Amash with this same wording, and he explicitly stated that he heard it directly, as recorded by Bukhari.Abu Shihab is Al-Hannat.
