Commander of the Believers, there is a verse in your Book which you recite. Had it been revealed to us, the community of Jews, we would have taken that day as a festival.Umar asked, "Which verse?"He replied, "This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion" [Maidah 5:3].Umar said, "I know the place where it was revealed and the day on which it was revealed. It was revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Arafat on a Friday."
