The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "For what value is the hand cut off?"He replied, "The hand is not cut off for fruit still hanging on the tree, but once it has been gathered into the drying-place, it is cut off for the value of a shield. Nor is it cut off for livestock grazing on the mountain, but once they have been brought into the fold, it is cut off for the value of a shield."
