The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A prescribed punishment carried out on earth is better for its people than receiving rain for thirty mornings."
أخبرنا سويد بن نصر قال أنبأنا عبد الله عن عيسى بن يزيد قال حدثني جرير بن يزيد أنه سمع أبا زرعة بن عمرو بن جرير يحدث أنه سمع
قال رسول الله ﷺ حد يعمل في الأرض خير لأهل الأرض من أن يمطروا ثلاثين صباحا
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Ibn Majah recorded it in the chapter on hudud, section on carrying out the hudud, no. 2538, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Mubarak, with this wording, and it is in Kubra, no. 7391. Jareer bin Yazid is daif, as stated in Taqrib and elsewhere. It has daif corroborating narrations in Ibn Hibban, no. 1507, and elsewhere, and Mundhiri and Iraqi graded it hasan.
