A contracted slave (mukatab) was killed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he ordered that blood-money be paid for him. For the portion of his contract he had already paid off, the blood-money of a free man was due, and for the remaining portion, the blood-money of a slave.
أخبرنا القاسم بن زكريا بن دينار قال حدثنا سعيد بن عمرو الأشعثي قال حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن أيوب عن عكرمة وعن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن عكرمة
أن مكاتبا قتل على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فأمر أن يودى ما أدى دية الحر وما لا دية المملوك
