Ali bin Abu Talib reported,

Someone asked Ali, "Do you have anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ besides the Quran?"He replied, "No, by the One who splits the seed and creates the soul, except that Allah grants a servant understanding of His Book, or what is in this document."I asked, "And what is in the document?"He said, "It contains rulings on blood-money, the ransoming of captives, and that a Muslim is not to be killed in retaliation for a disbeliever."
