The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The delay in repayment by a wealthy person is an injustice, and when one of you is referred for payment to a solvent person, he should accept the referral."
حدثنا محمد بن سلمة والحارث بن مسكين قراءة عليه وأنا أسمع واللفظ له عن ابن القاسم قال حدثني مالك عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال مطل الغني ظلم وإذا أتبع أحدكم على مليء فليتبع
Bukhari narrated it, Transfers (Hawalat), chapter on transfer of debt and whether one may go back on a transfer, no. 2287, and Muslim, Sharecropping (Musaqah), chapter on the prohibition of a wealthy person delaying payment and the validity of transferring debt, etc., no. 1564, from the hadith of Malik through this route, and it is in the Muwatta (Yahya's version) 2/674, and in the Kubra, no. 6290.
