The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Any woman whom two guardians have given in marriage belongs to the first of them, and whoever sells the same item to two men, it belongs to the first of them."
[Hasan] Reported by Abu Dawud, Marriage, chapter "When Two Guardians Marry Off the Woman," no. 2088, from the hadith of Qatada through this same chain. It is also found in Sunan al-Kubra, no. 6278, and Ibn Jarud graded it sahih. The hadith has corroborating narrations. In Sunan al-Kubra and Tuhfat Ashraf, it is "Saeed" instead of "Shuba."
