A man from Banu al-Saaq, one of the clans of Banu Kilab, came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about the fee taken for the stud service of a male animal. The Prophet forbade him from that.The man said, "We receive gifts of honor in return for it."
أخبرنا عصمة بن الفضل قال حدثنا يحيى بن آدم عن إبراهيم بن حميد الرواسي قال حدثنا هشام بن عروة عن محمد بن إبراهيم بن الحارث
جاء رجل من بني الصعق أحد بني كلاب إلى رسول الله ﷺ فسأله عن عسب الفحل فنهاه عن ذلك فقال إنا نكرم على ذلك

Sourcing, [sahih] Tirmidhi transmitted it, in the chapter on Sales, in the section on the dislike of charging for the covering fee of a stud animal, hadith no. 1274, from the hadith of Yahya bin Adam, with this wording, and he said, hasan gharib, and it is found in Kubra, hadith no. 6268, and the hadith has corroborating narrations.
