The Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught up with me while I was riding a poor water-camel of ours. I said, "We are always stuck with a poor water-camel. How miserable!"The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Will you sell it to me, Jabir?"I replied, "Rather, it is yours, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Allah, forgive him. Allah, have mercy on him. I have taken it for such and such a price, and I lend you its back to ride until Madinah."When I arrived in Madinah, I prepared the camel and brought it to him. He said, "Bilal, give him its price."As I was turning to leave, he called me back. I feared he was going to return the camel to me, but he said, "It is yours."
