The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wear two cloaks from Qatar. Whenever he sat down and perspired in them, they became heavy upon him. A shipment of cloth had arrived for a certain Jewish man from Sham, so I said, "Why don't you send to him and purchase two garments from him on credit until a time of ease?"He sent to the man, who replied, "I know what Muhammad wants. He only wants to make off with my property," or "to make off with the two garments."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He has lied. He knows that I am the most God-fearing among them and the most faithful in returning a trust."
أخبرنا عمرو بن علي قال حدثنا يزيد بن زريع قال حدثنا عمارة بن أبي حفصة قال أنبأنا عكرمة
كان على رسول الله ﷺ بردين قطريين وكان إذا جلس فعرق فيهما ثقلا عليه وقدم لفلان اليهودي بز من الشأم فقلت لو أرسلت إليه فاشتريت منه ثوبين إلى الميسرة فأرسل إليه فقال قد علمت ما يريد محمد إنما يريد أن يذهب بمالي أو يذهب بهما فقال رسول الله ﷺ كذب قد علم أني من أتقاهم لله وآداهم للأمانة
