The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no binding sale between two parties until they part ways, except in the case of a sale with the option to choose."
أخبرنا عبد الحميد بن محمد قال حدثنا مخلد قال حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو بن دينار
قال رسول الله ﷺ كل بيعين لا بيع بينهما حتى يتفرقا إلا بيع الخيار
Bukhari narrated it in "Sales," chapter "If the seller has the option, is the sale valid?" hadith no. 2113, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, with the same wording. It is also found in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith no. 6069.Makhlad is the son of Yazid. As for his statement "Amr bin Dinar," this is a distortion, and the correct name is Abdullah bin Dinar, as is found in Sunan al-Kubra, Tuhfat Ashraf, and other sources.
