The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed two horned rams, white with streaks of black, pronouncing the takbir and the name of Allah. I saw him slaughter them with his own hand, placing his foot on their necks.I asked, "Did you hear this directly from him?"He replied, "Yes."
أخبرنا إسمعيل بن مسعود قال حدثنا خالد عن شعبة أخبرني قتادة قال سمعت
ضحى رسول الله ﷺ بكبشين أملحين أقرنين يكبر ويسمي ولقد رأيته يذبحهما بيده واضعا على صفاحهما قدمه قلت أنت سمعته منه قال نعم
Reference. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Sacrifices, in the chapter on the recommendation of choosing a fine sacrificial animal, slaughtering it oneself without delegating it to another, and saying the basmalah and the takbir, hadith no. 18/1966, from the hadith of Khalid bin Harith. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sacrifices, in the chapter on one who slaughters the sacrificial animal with his own hand, hadith no. 5558, from the hadith of Shubah, with the same wording. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 4504.
