Adi bin Hatim reported,

I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with the miradh, and he said, "Whatever it strikes with its sharp edge, eat it, but whatever it strikes with its broad side is considered as having been killed by a blunt object, so do not eat it."I also asked him about the hunting dog, and he said, "If you release your dog and mention the name of Allah over it, then eat what it catches."I asked, "Even if it kills the prey?"He replied, "Even if it kills it. But if the dog has eaten from it, then do not eat, and if you find another dog with yours that has joined in killing the prey, do not eat it either, because you only mentioned the name of Allah over your own dog, not over the other one."

عن عدي بن حاتم قال

سألت رسول الله ﷺ عن صيد المعراض فقال ما أصاب بحده فكل وما أصاب بعرضه فهو وقيذ قال وسألته عن كلب الصيد فقال إذا أرسلت كلبك وذكرت اسم الله عليه فكل قلت وإن قتل قال وإن قتل فإن أكل منه فلا تأكل وإن وجدت معه كلبا غير كلبك وقد قتله فلا تأكل فإنك إنما ذكرت اسم الله عز وجل على كلبك ولم تذكر على غيره
