The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For a newborn boy there is an aqiqah, so shed blood on his behalf and remove the harm from him."
أخبرنا محمد بن المثنى قال حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا حماد بن سلمة قال حدثنا أيوب وحبيب ويونس وقتادة عن محمد بن سيرين
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال في الغلام عقيقة فأهريقوا عنه دما وأميطوا عنه الأذى
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith 4540, and Bukhari mentioned it as a suspended chain in the chapter on Aqiqah, section on removing harm from the child during aqiqah, hadith 5471, and it has multiple routes narrated by him.
