The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the aqeeqah, and he said, "Allah does not love uqooq," as if he disliked the name.It was said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "We are only asking you about one of us who has a child born to him."He said, "Whoever wishes to offer a sacrifice for his child, let him do so. For a boy, two equivalent sheep, and for a girl, one sheep."Dawud said, I asked Zayd bin Aslam about "the two equivalent ones," and he said, "The two sheep that resemble each other, slaughtered together."
