The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not revert to disbelief after me, striking one another's necks. A man is not to be held accountable for the crime of his father, nor for the crime of his brother."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, "This version is incorrect. The correct version is mursal."
أخبرنا محمد بن رافع قال حدثنا أبو أحمد الزبيري قال حدثنا شريك عن الأعمش عن أبي الضحى عن مسروق
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا ترجعوا بعدي كفارا يضرب بعضكم رقاب بعض لا يؤخذ الرجل بجناية أبيه ولا جناية أخيه قال أبو عبد الرحمن هذا خطأ والصواب مرسل
[Sahih]. It is found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 3591, and the hadith has many corroborating narrations.Abu Duha is Muslim bin Sabih, and Sharik is the judge.
