The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever unsheathes his sword and then strikes with it, his blood is forfeit."
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم قال أنبأنا الفضل بن موسى قال حدثنا معمر عن ابن طاوس عن أبيه
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال من شهر سيفه ثم وضعه فدمه هدر
[Its chain of transmission is sahih]Tahawi narrated it in Mushkil Athar 2/117 from the hadith of Fadl bin Musa Sinani, with the same wording. Waheeb bin Khalid corroborated him, as found in Hakim 2/159, who graded it sahih according to the standard of the two Shaykhs, and Dhahabi agreed with him. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 3560.The hadith has corroborating narrations, and it is found in Hilyat Awliya by Abu Nuaym, 4/21, from the hadith of Ishaq bin Rahwayh, with the same wording, where he said, "Fadl narrated it alone from Mamar, without anyone else."
