The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever comes worshipping Allah without associating anything with Him, establishing the prayer, paying the zakat, and avoiding the major sins, Paradise will be his."They asked him about the major sins, and he replied, "Associating partners with Allah, killing a Muslim soul, and fleeing on the day of battle."
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم قال أنبأنا بقية قال حدثني بحير بن سعد عن خالد بن معدان أن أبا رهم السمعي حدثهم أن
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال من جاء يعبد الله ولا يشرك به شيئا ويقيم الصلاة ويؤتي الزكاة ويجتنب الكبائر كان له الجنة فسألوه عن الكبائر فقال الإشراك بالله وقتل النفس المسلمة والفرار يوم الزحف
[Sahih]. It is in Sughra, hadith no. 3472. Baqiyyah practices tadlis al-taswiyah and did not clearly state the chained hearing, but his hadith has many corroborating witnesses, among them what Ibn Hibban narrated, hadith no. 20, and Hakim, 1/23, and others, with a sahih chain, from Abu Ayub, with the same content.
