The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The murdered man will come on the Day of Resurrection bringing his killer, and he will say, 'Ask this man why he killed me.' The killer will reply, 'I killed him for the kingdom of so-and-so.'"Jundab said, "So beware of it."
أخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن تميم قال حدثنا حجاج قال أخبرني شعبة عن أبي عمران الجوني قال
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال يجيء المقتول بقاتله يوم القيامة فيقول سل هذا فيم قتلني فيقول قتلته على ملك فلان قال جندب فاتقها
[Sahih]. Reported by Ahmad, 4/63, from Hajjaj bin Muhammad, through the same channel. It is also in Kubra, hadith 3461.The unnamed man mentioned is perhaps a companion, as indicated by the fact that Jundab, a companion, narrated from him. Ahmad included him in his Musnad. See the following hadith.
