"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from a practice that had been beneficial to us."I asked, "What was that?"He replied, "The command of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and it is the truth. He asked me, 'What do you do with your farmlands?' I said, 'We rent them out for a quarter of the produce, or for fixed measures of dates or barley.' He said, 'Do not do that. Either cultivate them yourselves, or have others cultivate them, or hold on to them.'"This was narrated by Bukayr bin Abdullah bin Ashajj from Usayd bin Rafi, attributing the report to Rafi's brother.
