The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling fruit before its ripeness becomes evident, and he forbade mukhabarah, which is leasing land in exchange for a third or a quarter of its produce. This was narrated by Abu Najashi Ata bin Suhayb, and there is disagreement in its transmission from him.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Business Transactions, Chapter on Leasing Land, no. 93/1536, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna with this chain, and it is also in Kubra, no. 4651, 4652. Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Miswar bin Makhrama narrates from Sufyan bin Uyayna, as noted in Kubra and Tuhfat Ashraf, and his statement "Ibn Miswar narrated to us" is an error and should be corrected.
