Aisha said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Safiya bint Huyayy has begun her menstrual period."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Perhaps she will detain us. Did she not perform the circumambulation of the House along with the rest of you?"She answered, "Yes, she did."He said, "Then set out."
أخبرنا محمد بن سلمة قال حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن القاسم قال أخبرني مالك عن عبد الله بن أبي بكر عن أبيه عن عمرة
أنها قالت لرسول الله ﷺ إن صفية بنت حيي قد حاضت فقال رسول الله ﷺ لعلها تحبسنا ألم تكن طافت معكن بالبيت قالت بلى قال فاخرجن
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Menstruation, chapter "A Woman Menstruating After the Farewell Circumambulation," hadith no. 328, and Muslim reported it in the Book of Hajj, chapter "The Obligation of the Farewell Tawaf and Its Waiver for a Menstruating Woman," hadith no. 1328/385, from the hadith of Malik through this same chain. It is also found in Muwatta (Yahya narration), 1/412.
