Tawus reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not lawful for anyone to give a gift and then take it back, except for what a parent gives to his child."Tawus said, "I used to hear, when I was young, the phrase 'one who returns to his vomit,' and we did not realize that it was a parable being given. Whoever does that, his likeness is like that of a dog that eats, then vomits, then returns to its vomit."
