When the verse "And warn your closest kinsfolk" [Shuara 26:214] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ summoned Quraysh. They gathered, and he addressed them, both generally and specifically, saying, "Children of Kaab bin Luayy, save yourselves from the Fire. Children of Mura bin Kaab, save yourselves from the Fire. Children of Abd Shams, save yourselves from the Fire. Children of Abd Manaf, save yourselves from the Fire. Children of Hashim, save yourselves from the Fire. Children of Abdul-Muttalib, save yourselves from the Fire. Fatimah, save yourself from the Fire. I have no power to benefit you in any way before Allah, except that you have ties of kinship which I shall keep moist with their due moisture."
