Umar acquired a piece of land at Khaybar and came to the Prophet ﷺ to seek his guidance about it. He said, "I have acquired a piece of land in Khaybar, and I have never acquired any property more precious to me than it. What do you advise me to do with it?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you wish, you may keep the land itself and give its yield in charity."So Umar gave it in charity on the condition that the land would not be sold or given away as a gift. He designated its yield for the poor, for relatives, for freeing slaves, for the cause of Allah, for travelers, and for guests. There is no blame, meaning, on the one who administers it, if he eats from it himself or feeds a friend, without seeking to enrich himself.The wording is from Ismail.
أخبرنا إسمعيل بن مسعود قال حدثنا بشر عن ابن عون قال وأنبأنا حميد بن مسعدة قال حدثنا بشر قال حدثنا ابن عون عن نافع
أصاب عمر أرضا بخيبر فأتى النبي ﷺ فاستأمره فيها فقال إني أصبت أرضا كثيرا لم أصب مالا قط أنفس عندي منه فما تأمر فيها قال إن شئت حبست أصلها وتصدقت بها فتصدق بها على أنه لا تباع ولا توهب فتصدق بها في الفقراء والقربى وفي الرقاب وفي سبيل الله وابن السبيل والضيف لا جناح يعني على من وليها أن يأكل أو يطعم صديقا غير متمول اللفظ لإسمعيل
