He used to say that during the year of Khaybar, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ allotted Zubayr bin Awwam four shares: one share for Zubayr himself, one share for the close kin on behalf of Safiyyah bint Abdul-Muttalib, the mother of Zubayr, and two shares for his horse.

[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Daraqutni reported it, 4/110, hadith no. 4143, and Bayhaqi reported it from him, 9/52-53, from the hadith of Ibn Wahb, with the same wording, and it is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 4434, though it contains a flaw that does not undermine its authenticity. Muhadir bin Al-Muwarra also narrated it from Hisham bin Urwa with the same wording, as found in Daraqutni.
