Uqba bin Amir reported,

"Khalid, come out with us so we may practice archery."One day I was slow in coming to him, so he said, "Khalid, come, let me tell you what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said."I went to him, and he said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah admits three people into Paradise on account of a single arrow: its maker who intends good in his crafting, the one who shoots it, and the one who hands it to the shooter. So shoot and ride, but that you shoot is dearer to me than that you ride. There is no diversion except in three things: a man's training of his horse, his playing with his wife, and his shooting with his bow and arrows. Whoever abandons archery after having learned it, out of disinterest, has abandoned a blessing," or he said, "has shown ingratitude for it."

أخبرنا الحسن بن إسمعيل بن مجالد قال حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد بن جابر قال حدثني أبو سلام الدمشقي عن خالد بن يزيد الجهني قال كان

عقبة بن عامر يمر بي فيقول

يا خالد اخرج بنا نرمي فلما كان ذات يوم أبطأت عنه فقال يا خالد تعال أخبرك بما قال رسول الله ﷺ فأتيته فقال قال رسول الله ﷺ إن الله يدخل بالسهم الواحد ثلاثة نفر الجنة صانعه يحتسب في صنعه الخير والرامي به ومنبله وارموا واركبوا وأن ترموا أحب إلي من أن تركبوا وليس اللهو إلا في ثلاثة تأديب الرجل فرسه وملاعبته امرأته ورميه بقوسه ونبله ومن ترك الرمي بعد ما علمه رغبة عنه فإنها نعمة كفرها أو قال كفر بها
