She reported that her mother said, "Yes. The Prophet ﷺ was asked about a woman whose husband had died and whose eyesight they feared for, whether she could apply kohl. He replied, 'One of you used to remain in her house in her worst garments for a full year, then come out. So no, not even four months and ten days?'"

عن أمها قال نعم إن النبي ﷺ سئل عن امرأة توفي عنها زوجها فخافوا على عينها أتكتحل فقال قد كانت إحداكن تمكث في بيتها في شر أحلاسها حولا ثم خرجت فلا أربعة أشهر وعشرا
