Qays, from Banu Asad of Quraysh, came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned that she suffered from prolonged bleeding. She reported that he said to her, "That is only a vein. When your menstrual period comes, leave off prayer. When it ends, perform the full bath, wash the blood from yourself, and then pray."
