Ayesha bought Barirah from some people of the Ansar, but they stipulated that the right of inheritance through emancipation would remain with them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The right of inheritance belongs to the one who grants the favor of freedom."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave Barirah the choice regarding her marriage, and her husband was a slave.She gifted some meat to Ayesha, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Why don't you serve us some of this meat?"Ayesha replied, "It was given as charity to Barirah."He said, "For her it is charity, but for us it is a gift."
أخبرنا القاسم بن زكريا بن دينار قال حدثنا حسين عن زائدة عن سماك عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم
أنها اشترت بريرة من أناس من الأنصار فاشترطوا الولاء فقال رسول الله ﷺ الولاء لمن ولي النعمة وخيرها رسول الله ﷺ وكان زوجها عبدا وأهدت لعائشة لحما فقال رسول الله ﷺ لو وضعتم لنا من هذا اللحم قالت عائشة تصدق به على بريرة فقال هو عليها صدقة وهو لنا هدية
