The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade shighar marriage. Shighar is when a man gives his daughter in marriage to another man on the condition that the other man gives his own daughter to him in marriage, with no dowry between them.
أخبرنا هارون بن عبد الله قال حدثنا معن قال حدثنا مالك عن نافع ح والحارث بن مسكين قراءة عليه وأنا أسمع عن ابن القاسم قال مالك حدثني نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن الشغار والشغار أن يزوج الرجل الرجل ابنته على أن يزوجه ابنته وليس بينهما صداق
Bukhari narrated it, Marriage, chapter: Shighar, no. 5112, and Muslim, Marriage, chapter: The prohibition of shighar marriage and its invalidity, no. 1415, from the hadith of Malik through him, and it is in the Muwatta (Yahya): 2/535, and Kubra, no. 5497.
