The wife of Rifa came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Rifa divorced me, and his divorce of me was final. I then married Abdul-Rahman bin Zubayr after him, but all he has is like the fringe of a garment."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed and said, "Perhaps you wish to return to Rifa? No, not until he tastes your sweetness and you taste his."
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم قال أنبأنا سفيان عن الزهري عن عروة
جاءت امرأة رفاعة إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقالت إن رفاعة طلقني فأبت طلاقي وإني تزوجت بعده عبد الرحمن بن الزبير وما معه إلا مثل هدبة الثوب فضحك رسول الله ﷺ وقال لعلك تريدين أن ترجعي إلى رفاعة لا حتى يذوق عسيلتك وتذوقي عسيلته
Bukhari narrated it in Shahadat (Testimonies), chapter on the testimony of one who conceals himself, hadith no. 2639. Muslim narrated it in Nikah (Marriage), etc., hadith no. 1433, in the chapter, "A woman divorced three times is not lawful for her former husband until she marries another husband and he has intercourse with her." ... the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with this chain.
